This photo was taken inside the Sacramento State Capital Building. The photo was taken in 2013 while I was attending school for photography. I had only been taken photos for approx. three months when this photo was shot. We were learning about the "Rule of Thirds", which is a tactic that all good photographers should utilized when taking photos. Shooting in "Thirds" definitely helps to make the photo more appealing to the eye.

The photo is actually a test shot. I always do a test shot before I begin taking photos. After looking at the photo I knew to needed to adjust the f-stop (controls the aperture ) & shutter speed in order to get the perfect lighting for the shot. This is not the final shot I only used it here to showcase my editing skills.

My final shot for this photo looks more like this, but for editing purposes I used the under exposed test shot.

This photo was taken at the California State Fair. I actually took this shot in color and changed it to black and white using the Lightroom Software. As you can see it looks rather dull so I edited the photo to make it more vibrant and appealing to the eye.

I think of this more as photo manipulation rather than editing. As it does change he overall look of the photo.
